Why locals love it

Italy is home to some amazing "giardini all’italiana" but if you're visiting Rome and one day you feel like taking a break from this kind of aesthetic and want to immerse yourself in a very different interpretation of outside space, you might enjoy a visit to the Japanese garden of the Japanese Cultural Institute.

Why you should visit it

The Cultural Institute architecture itself is worth visiting: it resembles a Heian period aristocrat’s home! While the gardens are an exotic and contemplative place in the hearth of hectic Rome, an off-the-beaten-path location. At the Institute you can also attend art exhibitions, japanese classes and other activities about Japanese world.
