The Scuola started out as a charitable confraternity, founded in honor of St. Roch (San Rocco), a saint who dedicated his life to help the sick. During centuries the Scuola became one of the wealthiest in Venice.

Now you can find important decoration in walls and ceilings made by Tintoretto, a famous italian artist and painter. All the building is a wonderful example of art, architecture and precious decoration in Venice.
Next to the Scuola you can visit also the beautiful S. Rocco church.
