The "Alt Wien" has a long tradition making coffee since 1936. It's charme is a typical Viennese one: the room full of smoke and the noises of people talking, the waiters offering the best Viennese rudeness (it's called charme) and the also often seen shabby chic. You hardly find another place that says more "Vienna" than the "Alt Wien".
Why you should visit it
Another advantage of this coffee house is that they serve coffee house food (Gulasch, Würstel, etc) until 2 am. Perfect if you want to grab a snack after going out or getting a midnight crave for heavy Austrian cuisine.
