Burggarten

Why locals love it

It is a marvelous place to relax. In the centre of the city it sometimes gets very hectic, but if you are in the "Burggarten" you forget all the city around you and calm down and enjoy to lie on the grass between families picknicking and business men enjoying their break.

Why you should visit it

It was the former privat park of the emperor of Austria and was closed to public. Nowadays everybody can go there and relax in the shadows of trees. The park is on two sides surrounded by the Hofburg-complex (the former imperial city palace) and on the other side by the Ring-street, Viennas most famous street.

Special tip

The park is situated in the heart of Vienna and therefore it is very easy to get there by public transport
