Why locals love it
The building of the WUK used to be a factory for locomotives in the 19th century. In the late 70ies of the last century it was occupied by the cultural underground scene and transformed into a cultural area. Today the building is used for education, entertainment, expositions and more.
Why you should visit it
It is one of very few brickstone buildings that were not torn down in Vienna and has its very unique charme. If you go there for concerts, expositions or just to grab a bite at the Beisl (typical Viennese restaurant type) it is a great place to be.
