It's a great place to introduce yourself to Lithuanian art and its history. Furthermore the whole place has fascinating urban architecture and the inside is so spacious that even when there's more people than usually (which happens rarely) you can enjoy almost complete silence and have a walk through it like you were the only person in a building.

Why you should visit it
It is nothing like usual traditional boring art galleries. Even though its permanent exhibition contains historical Lithuanian art, especially a lot of modern artwork, with its luminous and spacious areas and minimal exterior it feels like being in a contemporary art venue. All that synthesis of old and new creates whole new point of view to art.
Special tip
Visit it on a sunny day, when all that whiteness shines the brightest.
