The story behind this place is pretty unknown even among the locals, yet really interesting. It's a chapel dedicated to St Dismas, "the good thief" who was crucified alongside Jesus. It is said they used to hang criminals on this spot centuries ago, and the chapel was there to give those criminals consolation and show them the way to heavens.
There aren't many churches in the world dedicated to St Dismas. In fact, this is the only one that I know of. That makes it a rare and inviting sight. This street Nova Ves hides other curious places, and it's absolutely not touristy. Enjoy your walk!
The interior of the chapel can normally be seen only before Christmas, when the nativity scene gets exhibited.
