We booked ooked for Belgian Beer and Food Pairing but due to a mix up in the booking we didn't get to go on it. We were given option to go on Beer tour instead and we are pleased we did it.
Sebastien was a great tour guide, absolutely into everything beer (when not working as a barman he does the tours) and very knowledgable about beer and Brussels. We went to some great little bars which although near the Grand Place are not tourist traps!
Wonderful beers, great group of people on the tour, super bars and in a thoroughly enjoyable beer tour. Well worth doing!

Description

Belgium is well known for the quality of its beer, or “liquid gold” as it’s often called around the world. This tour provides the perfect introduction to the vast selection of Belgian beers, with 7 different tastings ranging from sour to bitter to sweet as well as food pairings.

During the first part of the tour you’ll visit several hidden-in-plain-sight Belgian taverns that are kept away from tourists’ eyes, giving you a better idea of the city and how to avoid the tourist traps. Our beer expert, who has 20+ years of experience in the industry, will introduce you to 3 different beers that are considered musts when visiting Brussels.

The second part of the tour takes place at a carefully selected restaurant in the heart of the city. It includes another 4 beers paired with 4 different Belgian dishes to maximise the experience. You’ll be served top-quality Trappist and Abbey beers along with with mussels, frites, beef stew, rabbit and chocolate pie as part of a food pairing activity.

Great all-in tour!
We spend the evening with international colleagues and it was perfect to spend 1 evening in the center of beautiful Brussels and in the same time discover the food and beers of Belgium and also visiting some real old pubs who were charming. We had a super guide who could give a little info about the history of the center without making it to boring. :-) For my personal opinion, I expected taste a little bit more different chocolates and taste a little bit more different beers. But that's my personal opinion as Belgian citizen..and if you really want, there are other tours more appropriate if you only want the degustation. :-)

Positive experience despite cancellation
Tour was cancelled since I was the only one who showed up. Sebastian was very nice and gave me a cash refund. He then showed me a few bars, introduced me to friends and bought me a beer. What can I say? Very surprising and enjoyable cancellation!!!

Great fun
Really enjoyed the tour, you get a mixture of chocolate history, education and tasters as well as local tips of places to eat and drink! Our guide was very engaging and we loved the chocolate making! A little pricey but worth it in the end. However more caramel chocolate freebies are needed!

I LOVED my tour!
I LOVED my tour as there was just one more person other than me in this tour and I personally don't like too much of crowd. Food in Brussels was outstanding and just made my day. Though not much of a beer person, I loved the light beer that the guide bought for us. Best part of the tour was that the guide was quite friendly and did not rush to finish the tour and on the contrary tour finished about 1 hour after the stated time. We had a great time with amazing food, light conversations, good scenery and knowing each other better. I think this tour was well worth it. I would recommend this tour to all those who want to visit Brussels, are short on time and want the best experience in that limited amount of time. Also I felt that the guide was quite flexible and tried to meet our requirements properly upon request, hence here's a suggestion for future customers looking to book a tour - If you have any particular interest in a type of beer then let the guide know about it as he would get it for you accordingly.
Not more than a guidebook could tell you
For the price I was expecting a bit more, I'm sorry to say. For example, the tastings were okay (the mussels were excellent) at rather touristy spots (the whole point, I thought, was to get "insider" discoveries) and the chocolate part was tasting one truffle (a very good one, but still). The beer tasting was informative and our guide was helpful, but overall I didn't really learn anything I hadn't already read in my (5-year-old) guide book.
