Explore the central market of the Hungarian capital by a local tour guide!
On this tour you can learn about the exciting history of this gorgeous building and also some architectural fun facts. No worries, it's not about sharing dry information at all!
During the tour you will also learn about Hungarian ingredients and cuisine, what and how they like, plus you will also have the opportunity to taste some delicacies (e.g. smoked sausage, cheese, etc.).
As a local foodie I do my weekly shopping every time in the Great Market Hall, so I know it quite well. After a short historical overview we are having some welcome bites of rétes (Hungarian strudel), then we go downstairs to learn about fish, pickled vegetables and their role in local gastronomy.
The most interesting part of the market is the ground floor, so we continue our way there discussing eating habits and different products Hungarians produce and also have some tastings.
We finish our tour on the gallery, where the food court and souvenirs can be found. If you are still hungry after the tastings, you can buy a hot meal e.g. lángos or sausage for yourself, I am happy to give you recommendations.
