Why locals love it

The Norwegian Church is a landmark building of Cardiff Bay, rich in a fascinating history. Formally a church for Norwegian sailors, this iconic (and beautiful) building dates back to the industrial revolution, when Cardiff Docks were the greatest exporter of coal in the world!

It now hosts a popular cafe, art exhibitions, classes and events!

Why you should visit it

Not only do you get to witness a staple of Welsh history at the church, but you can also enjoy delicious coffee, fresh lunch and award-winning cakes with a panoramic view of Cardiff Bay.

Arguably one of the most scenic spots in the city centre, here you can sit on the waterfront and sample divine dishes full of locally sourced ingredients!

Special tip

Check to see whether there are any events on during your visit as this can affect the Church's opening times!

Nice coffee, good place to meet. Craft fairs held here as well.

The church is right by the bay, next to the Doctor Who experience. They have a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches. We ordered soup, they even had traditional Welsh soup. The food was good, but if you are a true gourmand, you should look for something more special. We were lucky to be able to visit a photo exhibition in the church and there was also a concert while we were there, so definitely worth checking the place out.
