Over 500 species of sea animals live happily in landlocked Colorado, thanks to the more than one million gallons of underwater exhibits at the downtown aquarium. Fish, sharks, crustaceans, rays, starfish, eels, seahorses and even tigers call this place home.
Somewhat smaller than other aquariums in the country, this is a good place to witness some bizarre lifeforms with worrying that you'll run out of energy half way through. Especially with kids, the modest scale makes a visit here easily manageable.
The surrounding landscape is a recreated wetland biome designed by the local architecture firm RNL. Take a stroll through to appreciate them.
