El Taco De Mexico1
Why locals love it
The name says it all: THE taco of Mexico. Neither a gourmet nor fusion interpretation, rather an authentic dive with hugely flavorful fare made by those who know it best. On busy days this place has a cosmopolitan line of gringos, cholos and everyone in between stretching out the door.
Why you should visit it
This place is classic- no gimmicks, no decor, simply amazing, wholesome, homestyle cooking at very reasonable prices. The menudo, chile relleno burrito, green chile sauce, smothered enchiladas, huevos rancheros and of course the tacos are all outstanding, and generally served up with bountiful sides of refried beans and spiced rice.
If you speak any Spanish try to talk your way into a bowl of the sublime but jealously guarded jalapeño salsa.
