Tom's stands out among Denver's dive diners and bars as probably the best place to observe the late night freak community in action. The kitchen cooks up decent, greasy fare well-suited to premptively padding your stomach for a long drinking session or soaking up the alchohol afterward. Also counts among the few 24/7 spots around.
True, there are locks on the bathroom doors and cracks in the windows stemming from what or may not be bullet holes, but the staff here is great and the opportunities for anthropoligic investigation of Denvers nocturnal inhabitants unsurpassed. Tom's is located very near the Fillmore and Ogden theaters, so makes a great pre or post-show pitstop.
The french fries smothered in green chili sauce and cheese represent perfectly what Colorado diner food is all about.
