My grandmother’s shop

A Vida Portuguesa

Why locals love it

This is a shop where you will find objects quite different from those that you find in all other gift shops settled in tourist zones. A Vida Portuguesa (Portuguese Life) started in Chiado (Rua Anchieta, 11) and quickly became a Lisbon must. Why? Because it brought to life many Portuguese brands and objects that only our grandfathers remembered.

Why you should visit it

In A Vida Portuguesa there is plenty of space to all kinds of gifts: clothes, tills, books, tableware, food, jewelry, and many other things you couldn’t even imagine. Yes, you can also find a bath or a stove under the same roof. The prices could be a little bit high, but remember that most of articles you’ll see there are exclusive from this shop.

Special tip

Try to enjoy Largo do Intendente: choose an esplanade and have a glass of red wine, while seeing all the good purchases you have just made.
