Built on top of the old King's hunting ground, the Observatory helped 19th century scientists learn about Space. Amazing architecture and turn-of-the-century scientific equipment! The tour guides are friendly and will tell you all kind of amazing facts about the place, including that Portugal's official time is still set by these telescopes today!
Imagine a building that crosses functional aspects with striking beauty. Picture room-filling telescopes, and a dome that lets you see both the stars and Lisbon's breathtaking riverside. Be aware the walk there is quite steep, and you should enter by ISA's main gate. Free appointments tel.: 213 921 808 email: geral@museus.ulisboa.pt
