My husband and I wanted to do a short excursion outside of Lisbon, and we were very lucky that we had heard about Joao. We wanted to do a short trip to Obidos, and it was very easy to arrange with him. He was responsive, punctual and organised. In addition to Obidos, Joao recommended that we visit Peniche as well - we appreciated this recommendation, since the place was beautiful and not something that we would have otherwise known about (even though we partially live in Lisbon). If we had more time, we also would have liked to visit a vineyard that Joao recommended. His English is excellent, and he is overall very informative. We liked that he let us be "independent" and wander around Obidos, stop for food, sightseeing, etc - the tour was informative but not too rigid and formal.

Rita is an experienced guide who was really friendly and knowledgeable about Lisbon's history, culture, and social life. She took me to several cool places that I would have never found on my own. We walked and talked, ate and drank, it was great!

Campo de Ourique Food & Culture Walking Tour
The tour was just fine, well planned and executed - and Rosa knew a lot about both cultural, history and food. A pleasure for sure.

Cooking Lisbon was a fantastic introduction to Portuguese cuisine (which I knew very little about ahead of time)! The group class took on a communal feel, which was great for a solo traveler like me. We were three individuals and two couples, and under the instruction of the chef, we shared tasks to create a four course meal, before sitting down to eat together. We sipped wine, snacked, and learned about the recipes while creating soup, a fish dish, and meat dish and a dessert. A great overview to Portuguese food, and now I hope to recreate at home!

Myself and my girlfriend went to a cooking class earlier this week and we were very lucky as it was just us two booked in for the evening. Our teacher, Perdro, made us feel very welcome and relaxed from the start and we had an evening filled with expert tutorship, really good food and wine and a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely go back and recommend to others as a must do!

My wife, myself and my two grown daughters took this cooking class the last night of our vacation. The cooking instruction was excellent and the food, and wine were superb. We tasted cod for the first time and it was tasty. Also chorizo, potato soup and an excellent egg white and custard that were delicious. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.

We can highly recommend the food tour arranged by Taste of Lisbon, beginning at the end stop of Tram 28! The tour will give you a very tasty overview of Portuguese food culture on a path not travelled by many tourists. Our guide Filipa also gave us great insight in the Lisbon lifestyle while we were digging into the amazing dishes and drinks. The only tour you need!

We booked the Campo de Ourique tour because we wanted something off the beaten track. We did not want to go to the usual tourist traps and learn about the things we could learn about in the guidebooks. We were not disappointed. Filipa took us to the market where we saw raw ingredients; we ate appetizers from octopus salad to game croquettes; we tasted wines; we had "the best chocolate cake in the world" (trademarked) and amazing custard pastries. The best thing about this tour was that it was done in a relaxed, unhurried, and personal manner--like old friends meeting to chat while walking around town. Filipa also gave us great information about other parts of town/restaurants/stores to visit that we followed. Here, too, we were not disappointed. We kept her map as a constant reference throughout our trip. This tour was a wonderful experience, and we were very thankful that Filipa helped us to experience Lisbon more like a native than a tourist. Do this tour first.

This tour was a great way to see Lisbon away from the usual tourist traps. Filipa, the tour guide, was a great guide and gave us loads of information an was so much fun. The tour itself took us to lots of varied places. I got to try things i never would have thought of trying or known where to go to get them. The food tasted was outstanding and i definitely left feeling satisfied. Go hungry. If you do this tour, do it at the start of your trip as you will be tempted to go back to all the places again and you can get further tip for the rest of your stay in Lisbon. Do this tour, it's amazing.

We had some free time in Lisbon at the start of our Uniworld Duoro River cruise, so I found this food tour - Campo de Ourique Food & Cultural Tour. Filipa was our guide and it is her own business. She grew up in the Ourique area so is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed 6 varied food stops, starting and ending with a sweet which is fine by me. It was only a mile of flat walking. The indoor market is amazing & all stops unique. Who knew there was a restaurant serving just mussels & beer! I highly recommend this tour.

Although anyone can find information reggarding Lisbon, nothing quite compares to the content you can absorb on tour. Going through picturesc neighborhoods, trying portuguese delicacies like fresh seafood, or outstanding cheese. Plus, having the locals come up to us to say hello or let our guides know about something new - what an experience! I would do it all again. Both tours - Campo de Ourique and Mouraria - are worth it!

I took the market tour and cooking class with Isabel as the Chef, and Luis, an owner, as a tour guide and host. The class and tour had 3 other students, so the size was ideal. Each student had individual attention, and just enough cooking to keep us all occupied without feeling stressed. The Mercardo da Ribeira was quite the sight to behold! A huge market with fish, meat, breads, fruits vegetables, etc. The fish mongers kept everyone entertained with their knife skills. In addition, there is a giant "food court" attached to the market, where we stopped for refreshment (pastel de Nata) before heading back to the cooking school to make a delicious 4-course lunch using the ingredients we just purchased, including squid, sausage made with pork fat and flour (used in an egg dish), chicken in a pot, and potatoes, rice, tomato, and a very unique and tasty local sweet. All the while, Isabel and Luis kept us well informed of local ingredients, including the freshest fish, while Luis kept our wine glasses full of local wines. We also tried 4 types of olive oil, made in Portugal of course, and the conversation flowed very nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the food and the company, and plan to take the pastry class as soon as they are settled into their new location.

I bought a market tour and cooking class for my partner as a birthday present for while we were in Lisbon and I was really pleased I made this choice. We had a really great day, seeing the market from the view of people who lived in the city and learning to cook 4 great dishes. The class was exactly the right level - we have a bit of experience cooking but never with Portuguese food and equipment, and it was a really interesting way to learn about the culture of a country. Luis was very helpful, giving us recommendations for the rest of our time away and sending us pictures and the recipies we made. Highly recommended
