Local Knowledge & Passionate Guide
My husband and I wanted to do a short excursion outside of Lisbon, and we were very lucky that we had heard about Joao. We wanted to do a short trip to Obidos, and it was very easy to arrange with him. He was responsive, punctual and organised. In addition to Obidos, Joao recommended that we visit Peniche as well - we appreciated this recommendation, since the place was beautiful and not something that we would have otherwise known about (even though we partially live in Lisbon). If we had more time, we also would have liked to visit a vineyard that Joao recommended. His English is excellent, and he is overall very informative. We liked that he let us be "independent" and wander around Obidos, stop for food, sightseeing, etc - the tour was informative but not too rigid and formal.
Day Tour to Medieval Óbidos with Wine Tasting
Not a cooking class but a fun communal cooking activity
Three of us turned up expecting a cooking class. But we knew this was different when we were offered " help yourself wine" and snacks for the duration of the class. We were told of the menu and each person (14 participants) assigned activities to make our 4 course meal. No recipes were handed out and we weren't run through the method and ingredients for each course , although they are available somewhere on the internet. Rather we spent a lot of time chatting with fellow class members drinking wine and snacking. We didn't have to do any cleaning up or serving the final result was more like a meal in a restaurant with a fabulous fun bunch of strangers. Not what we expected but a great night nonetheless

Fun night out
This cooking class was fun. We made a full meal as a group and the atmosphere was very laid back. The course was totally worth doing;however, everyone was working on different components so most people missed how to make each dish. It was more of a cook together class than a lesson.

Nice, but little overpriced

Rita is an experienced guide who was really friendly and knowledgeable about Lisbon's history, culture, and social life. She took me to several cool places that I would have never found on my own. We walked and talked, ate and drank, it was great!
Cascais Fish & Farmers Market Tour & Lunch from Lisbon
Amazing cooking class
Had an amazing night with the chef Maria! We ended up being just the two of us because two other people never showed. I got lucky because it was like a private class :) At first I thought I wasn't cooking enough I was more like an helper but Maria explained to me that portuguese food is usually made with family and everyone kind of just participate in their own way, and thought it made sense. The food we cooked was simply delicious!!! Really recommend taking this class :)

Love, Life, Laughter; Lisbon
Life!! What better way to enjoy the love of food and wine, laughing with the chef and the other chef wannabes during the preparation of a wonderful culinary experience that is so Portugal, so Lisbon. This was definitely one of our highlights of our trip to Portugal

Campo de Ourique Food & Culture Walking Tour
The tour was just fine, well planned and executed - and Rosa knew a lot about both cultural, history and food. A pleasure for sure.

Excellent Experience
What an incredible experience this was. Mariana was a wonderful hostess and took us to places we would have never found on our own. It is a "taste and explore" experience that is informative, enjoyable and delightful.
Old Town & Alfama Food Tour
Five stars for sure!
The tour far exceeded my expectations. The tour guide was knowledgeable, lively and very passionate about food and the neighborhood. I loved the area and different places she showed us and the food we ate. Part of our group met up again the next evening for dinner at the Mozambican restaurant. I definitely recommend the tour!

Lovely day – light and entertaining
The market tour was interesting in a sense of learning about Portuguese domestic products, especially the different types of fish and the variety of dishes which could be cooked. It was great going cooking from fresh products and being explained the history of various Portuguese dishes while drinking wine. It was a lovely day, very light and entertaining. At the same time it was amazing learning new things in that atmosphere. The recipes were sent by email directly after class-to practice the dishes back at home and remember Lisbon!

Our experience was a full five-stars! We had an excellent time and would recommend the tour to anyone without reservation.

Cooking Lisbon was a fantastic introduction to Portuguese cuisine (which I knew very little about ahead of time)! The group class took on a communal feel, which was great for a solo traveler like me. We were three individuals and two couples, and under the instruction of the chef, we shared tasks to create a four course meal, before sitting down to eat together. We sipped wine, snacked, and learned about the recipes while creating soup, a fish dish, and meat dish and a dessert. A great overview to Portuguese food, and now I hope to recreate at home!
Gourmet Portuguese Cooking Experience in Lisbon
Myself and my girlfriend went to a cooking class earlier this week and we were very lucky as it was just us two booked in for the evening. Our teacher, Perdro, made us feel very welcome and relaxed from the start and we had an evening filled with expert tutorship, really good food and wine and a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely go back and recommend to others as a must do!
Gourmet Portuguese Cooking Experience in Lisbon
My wife, myself and my two grown daughters took this cooking class the last night of our vacation. The cooking instruction was excellent and the food, and wine were superb. We tasted cod for the first time and it was tasty. Also chorizo, potato soup and an excellent egg white and custard that were delicious. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.

Portuguese Cooking Class in Lisbon
Professional tour, good atmosphere, very interactive, interesting background information on the recipes, well-equipped kitchen, good location, good balance between cooking and dining time. We’ve received the recipes for the dishes we made, so now the fun can start at home as well.
Portuguese Cooking Class in Lisbon
I went with my father on this tour. It was amazing! For anyone who is still doubting whether they should do this tour or not: do it!! This tour shows you all the cultural aspects of the hidden treasures in Lisbon. Some history, laughs, room for questions.. And especially the food. It was really good. Really good quality! The tour operators are such sweet people. I am a vegetarian, and immediately after I booked the tour I got a mail from Pedro. He asked me what I do eat and what I don't, so they could make a menu for me. In total we got 6 different stops. They were all very unique. I'm not going to tell all the secrets, for that you should go on the tour. Thank you, Taste of Lisboa! It was a pleasure meeting you!
Downtown Mouraria Food & Culture Walking Tour
We can highly recommend the food tour arranged by Taste of Lisbon, beginning at the end stop of Tram 28! The tour will give you a very tasty overview of Portuguese food culture on a path not travelled by many tourists. Our guide Filipa also gave us great insight in the Lisbon lifestyle while we were digging into the amazing dishes and drinks. The only tour you need!
Tram 28 Campo de Ourique Food & Culture Walking Tour
We booked the Campo de Ourique tour because we wanted something off the beaten track. We did not want to go to the usual tourist traps and learn about the things we could learn about in the guidebooks. We were not disappointed. Filipa took us to the market where we saw raw ingredients; we ate appetizers from octopus salad to game croquettes; we tasted wines; we had "the best chocolate cake in the world" (trademarked) and amazing custard pastries. The best thing about this tour was that it was done in a relaxed, unhurried, and personal manner--like old friends meeting to chat while walking around town. Filipa also gave us great information about other parts of town/restaurants/stores to visit that we followed. Here, too, we were not disappointed. We kept her map as a constant reference throughout our trip. This tour was a wonderful experience, and we were very thankful that Filipa helped us to experience Lisbon more like a native than a tourist. Do this tour first.
