On the outskirts of town, this gallery won museum of the year award after a big revamp of the place. There's a Scandinavian style cafe overlooking the park and for families you can pick up free art hampers or join activities in the park

Whether or not you care about the art (they have some world famous exhibitions) there's also a great programme of events here, it's a beautiful architectural space, a great cafe (always busy), and the surrounding park is pleasant.
Special tip
The market salad in the cafe is very good value and healthy and delicious.
