All over an exhausted Europe, victorious Allied soldiers set free the desperate survivors of camp after camp. The diseased, the starving and the barely alive emerged to tell a shocked and disbelieving world of the full horror of a network of systematised murder, torture, degradation and exploitation that had first been conceived and set in motion 12 years earlier in 1933 in Dachau. This was the “parent” KZ (Konzentrationslager).

KZ Dachau was the “Academy of Terror”, the originator, role model and training ground for the vast order of brutality that spread over half of Europe in the wake of the armies of the Third Reich, which ultimately culminated in one of history’s greatest crimes: the Final Solution.

While each camp was responsible for its own particular form of barbarism, what set Dachau apart is that almost everything that happened in the system as a whole happened at some level there. There, human medical experiments were conducted. To there, Soviet prisoners were sent to be mown down in mass executions. From there, Jewish prisoners were transported to the gas chambers of Auschwitz.

Great place, guide seemed disinterested
I was really excited to go to Dachau concentration camp. Our guide Achim seemed like he didnt want to be there. He was quite negative and monotonous. It couldve been presented better. I like radius tours but Achim wasnt great.
Very informative tour, highly recommend Nicola as a tour guide
The tour was seamless from start to finish, our Tour Guide Nicola was very well informed on the history and spoke clearly in English.

I would recommend this tour for English tourists in Munich and ask for Nicola. She also gave some great restaurant recommendations!

Very knowledgeable had a lot of nuances to share
Richard was a wonderful guide
Richard was a wonderful guide. He is passionate about World War II and all its political and economic aspects. He's a great communicator and will make your tour an unforgettable experience.
Great Tour for German History
I very much enjoyed the tour and hearing about the concentration camps and other WWII history from the perspective of a German citizen. I grew up always hearing about the Jewish side of the story - as I am a Jew - but never got the full story. The guide we had was very knowledgeable, albeit a bit opinionated. He was very good at keeping the group together and giving us time to see what we wanted to see, while keeping the tour moving so we could tour the entire camp.
Just right
Matt was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He kept the tour interesting throughout with a good balance of facts and stories. He provided perspective through historical background and left time for individual exploration and contemplation. Matt provided an excellent journey through a complex and horrific period.
Excellent tour
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the Dachau tour. Our guide, Sabri, was so knowledgeable and a great storyteller. We learned so much. Highly recommend!
Very Good Respectful Tour for an Emotional Place
I went on the tour of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Tour. Our Guide Kevin was very informative and respectful with the topic at hand. I would think this is a very difficult thing to balance but Kevin seemed to do so with ease. As for Dachau itself I would just like to say, as many people are aware, it is a very emotionally difficult place to go to. The weight of what happened there really hits you as soon as you walk in the doors. I would recommend being very emotionally prepared and bring some tissues. It is important to remember as something like this does not happen again. Thank you Kevin and those who have worked to put together Dachau memorial.
Somber but terrific tour
We took the Radius tours Dachau concentration camp tour on the morning of Sept. 29th. Well extremely sad as expected, it was an amazing experience though the history of WW II and the persecution of so many people.

Steve was our guide and I can't imagine anyone knowing more about the history of the WW II or the specifics of Dachau. Steve guided us painlessly from Munich's main Train station to and through Dachau and back to the train station. All the while he imparted his infinite knowledge on the group and answered every question thoughtfully.

To tell you the truth, I was planning to visit the concentration camp on our own but my Girlfriend had a preference to take the tour. THANK GOD because Steve's tour was terrific.

Thanks Steve.
