Rendezvous with the elves

Why locals love it

Hidden little park in the middle of Hafnarfjörður. This little area is mostly known for its "huldufólk" (elves, dwarves and other creatures). Locals come here for picnics and for a chat with the mystical creatures that inhabitate the park.

Why you should visit it

The lava formations in the park gives the area a harsh and mystical appearance, which may be the reason for the believe of elf-residence in the park. There are two tours available during the summer time: the elf walk tour and the hidden world tour.

Special tip

In the park is a tiny bonsai garden, opened for public in the summer time. Could be the northernmost bonsai garden in the world.
