Historians believe that first Jews setlled in Georgia in the VI century. The synagogue is the center of Jewish life in Tbilisi. It is located in the Old town and it is accessible for all visitors from Sunday to Thursday.

It is the main synagogue of Georgian Jewish community that belongs to the Sefardic line. The synagogue from early XX century was recently renovated and is stunningly beautiful from the inside. Here you can also find information on Georgian Jewish history and a memorial desk of Georgian Rabbis.
The door to the second floor is usually closed, but if you have good persuasion skills, you might be allowed to see the more festive upper room.
