After a short, one-hour drive, you'll begin your hike to the upper part through semi-desert area to explore sacred David Gareja monastery complex it was founded in the 6th century by David (St. David Garejeli). You'll follow a scenic trail to the Udabno monastery hills which nowadays is natural borderline of two countries Georgia and Azerbaijan. Feast your eyes on colorful landscapes as you travel to the sacred monastery and see the monumental paintings inside caves within Udabno monastery. Enjoy undivided attention when I will share stories about the monastery.

From Gareja, travel to the village Badiauri, there is possible to visit locals bread bakeries and participate to bake Georgian bread. You will continue your trip to Bodbe monastery with spectacular views, 9th century three-nave basilica, ring ball tower and modern church.
