Out of Berlin’s many beautiful parks, Hasenheide is the all-round talent. It has enough trees to provide a calm place to rest and it’s large enough for football games on the meadows. Other attractions include an open-air cinema, a minigolf course, a rose garden and even a small zoo.
Hasenheide is so large that you can always find a resting place in the shadows or in the sun when you need a recreation after sightseeing, shopping or partying in the trendy, close-by districts of Kreuzberg and Neukölln. Walking through the park at night is not recommended as there are some drug-related crime issues.
At the northern entrance a statue reminds visitors that in 1811 Friedrich Ludwig Jahn inaugurated Germany´s first public gymnastics square here.
