Since Berlin lacks a city centre and the accompanying pedestrian zone in which all the familiar shops you know from other European capitals are located, you will find those shops in the different shopping malls scattered across the city and usually called 'Arkaden' (except for the pink building called 'Alexa' on - surprise - Alexanderplatz).
Otherwise, every neighbourhood has their shopping streets or areas in which you can find shops you won't find in any other European capital. It's a bit of a scavenger hunt sometimes to find those places selling Berlin fashion labels or the biggest selection of second hand vinyls, but it's worth the effort and also the fun.
Or you just choose one of the many flea markets usually held on Saturdays or Sundays, with the Mauerpark being the most famous - or one of the many grocery markets, the one at Maybachufer being the most famous.
