Actually it's more of a convenient placement: Pure Origins is located directly opposite the main library of Humboldt University and therefore attracting tons of students who are tired of the library's coffee.
Why you should visit it
If you are in the area, it's probably the safest bet for really good coffee and a different feel to all the very very touristy places around Friedrichstraße. Also, if you want to feel like a student and/or watch what it's like to study in a way too small yet fancy library.
Special tip
The couscous salad is quite a good deal. And they offer filter coffee - a rarity in the world of americanos, if you are into it.
