This church in Prenzlauer Berg has a short but interesting history. It was a meeting point for oppositional groups under the GDR regime. In 1987 skinheads attacked visitors at a concert held in the church while the socialist police forces just stood by and watched.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, one of the most important protagonists of the peaceful resistance against the Nazi regime served as a curate in this church. There´s a bronze monument in his honour at the west side of the church.
Sundays you can climb the tower for a panoramic view of the surrounding districts.
