Hello, I’m Maria, a private travel guide in Georgia. Tbilisi became my home 6 years ago and ever since then I’ve been exploring every corner of the country, taking the craziest routes and making unforgettable memories.

I became a guide not because I had to, but because I really wanted to share my passion for Georgia with visitors. It’s still my dream job! Travelling has taught me that we’re all different, and that’s why I create tailor-made tours for each of my guests.

I love showing visitors another side of Tbilisi, the one that you won’t find in the guidebooks. For example, I know the city’s socialist architecture well, from grand buildings and monuments to abandoned cable car stations, and am always finding beauty in decay.

I also love introducing people to the food scene beyond the fancy restaurants: typical diners where office workers eat, a small fast food spot that all local kids love, and an old restaurant that’s still popular today.

Description

This private tour is a perfect combination of Kakheti’s most scenic spots.

You’ll see the toy-like town of Signagi, with its red roofs, tiny streets, and marvellous view over the Alazani Valley. Here we will also have a small wine tasting of natural Georgian wines made by the ancient Qvevri technology.

You’ll also visit the ancient Bodbe Monastery, which is lovingly taken care of by the nuns and is a strong contrast with its rose bushes and white churches to the monks led Gareji monastery.

The final stop is the unique David Gareja cave monastery on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. It has a special spiritual atmosphere and is surrounded by a beautiful deserted landscape.

Amazing Day!
It’s certainly a long and tiring trip, but very memorable and we highly recommend that you take this tour with Maria.
We have been on many tours, but with Maria as our guide, this was the best of them. We only wish we had taken all our tours with her as her knowledge is unparalleled.
She is an awesome guide. Warm, kind, patient and friendly. Above all, she is extremely knowledgeable and you will finish your day feeling like you know so much about Georgia and it’s history.
A tour with Maria is an absolute must!
Lovely day trip
I want to take Maria with me on all my travels! She is so knowledgeable, friendly, easy-going, smart and funny. This trip gives you a completely different side of the country away from the mountains and into the countryside. A must-see for sure.
Beautiful Scenery
I had a great day trip with Maria and it didn't feel like we were on a tour but more of exploring as I get local insights from her. Signagi is definitely beautiful and I'm glad to have gone to experience wine tasting here. I highly recommend booking a tour with her.

Excellent trip and hike
A glorious daytrip into the Kazbegi mountain region with Maria and her excellent driver. The day is long but doesn't feel exhausting as the scenery is exquisite. Lunch at Rooms hotel is followed by an easy hike to a waterfall, with Maria sharing her vast knowledge of the region. A must-do!
Fantastic tour
This is a great way to introduce yourself to the city and Maria is hands down the best tour guide you could ever ask for. So incredibly knowledgeable about everything from cheese to trees, smart, funny, perfect English and very focused on making the tour suit you. She opens up the Old Town in a way you will never be able to do yourself. Excellent value for money as well.
Very kind tour guide
We had a very pleasant tour, guided by Maria. She spoke proper English and knew a lot about the city. She took us to a small stall where we could buy spices. She showed us the city in a way we couldn't do it ourselves. We ate some local bread and drank local made wine. It was a nice day. Thanks a lot Maria!
Great tour of Tbilisi
Highly recommend anyone going to Georgia to do the tour with Maria. It's super fun, thorough and informative. Maria goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and a tour with her gets you set to tackle Tbilisi by yourself. She's a great guide and knows the best spots.
Fantastic and knowledgeable guide
Did this tour with 5 friends during our 1 week trip to Georgia. Maria was incredibly knowledgeable about her city. She was very friendly (and also very patient as we were late to meet her) and was the ideal guide for our superb 4 hour tour. Some of my friends were reluctant to do a lengthy walking tour but without exception all agreed this was fantastic and was carried out at an easy pace. Maria took us to a few locations we would not have found and the tour ended with a terrific wine tasting visit to an underground wine cellar. Very highly recommend this tour. Even if this tour were more expensive it would be great value. Thanks Maria!
